Whether it’s with our work, family, or social life, we all have those times when it’s almost impossible to juggle everything that we have going on. Instead of letting stress get the best of us, we have decided to take advice from the ‘Pura Vida’ lifestyle for a new way to achieve a healthy balance. We’ve summed up our findings from our venture to learn the ways of the pure life into 3 inspiring tips that we hope work for you as well as they have for us!
The concept of ‘Pura Vida’ revolves around living a pure life, so the best way to begin to embrace it is by getting rid of stress and worry. Instead of being overwhelmed with everything you have going on, think about how lucky you are to have those things in your life. After all, the true meaning of ‘Pura Vida’ is that no matter what you may be going through; always remember that there are others in the world less fortunate.
Tip – Look at the big picture
At the end of the day we’re all in this life together. Start by going into each day with the world in mind, and personal stresses will soon feel irrelevant.
Take it easy
Everything is piling up, and you don’t know where or what to start with. Take a minute to write a list of everything that you need to accomplish. Now look at each thing you wrote down and decide if it’s truly necessary or worth the stress. Rather than sweating the small stuff, embrace the Costa Rican saying “mañana, mañana,” which translates to “tomorrow, tomorrow”. In other words, don’t complicate your time with anything you could put off doing completely. Keeping life simple is the key to finding balance and saving our time for what’s most important.
Tip – Unplug for a little while
Take some ‘me time’. Turn off the T.V., close the computer screen, and put down your phone. The internet and social media won’t go anywhere. Instead of wasting hours scrolling, use them to relax or doing something outdoors. Life’s short, so we need to live it!
Take this stressed out situation and imagine dealing with it in a foreign place. A common reaction known across people who have had the chance to embrace the ‘Pura Vida’ lifestyle is that they gain a new viewpoint of where they came from. Being appreciative of our home, family, and friends is how to put everything that we have going on into perspective. After we get on track to the pure way of life, we can realize how lucky we are to have the life we were given, and appreciate every part before it’s too late!
Tip – Donate
Bring a smile to someone less fortunate by donating something that you no longer need. Let them experience a piece of the lifestyle you now see how lucky you are to have!
